Introduction
Welcome to this webquest!
During this assignment you will explore a number of websites that will teach you about eating for a healthy planet (and for healthy humans). There will be a few short questions for you to answer on each website.
Happy Learning!
Task
Task 1: Go to https://davidsuzuki.org/queen-of-green/food-climate-change/ and answer the following questions (in full sentences) on a lined piece of paper
1) What are four things to consider when planning meals, shopping or ordering in a restaurant?
2) What are four things that "the queen of green" recommends you can do to help reduce the impacts of agriculture and growing food on the environment?
3) Scroll to the bottom of the page where you see three links (in boxes) titled: "Help end Food Waste", "How to Forage for Food", and "Don't Confuse 'Best Before' with 'expired'". Check out all three of these links and write down one thing you learned from each.
4) Did you find this useful? Why or why not?
Task 2:Go to https://food-guide.canada.ca/en/ and answer the following questions (in full sentences) on a lined piece of paper.
1) Spend five minutes exploring the website on your own and write down three things that you learned, two things that surprised you, and one question you have.
2) Go to the "Healthy Eating Habits" tab and click on the bullet point that says "notice when you are hungry and when you are full". What are three things that influence when you feel hungry and when you feel full. How might noticing when you are hungry and when you are full help both you and the planet?
3) Check out some of the recipes on this page. Find one that you like and explain why it is a healthy choice for you and for the environment.
Ensure your paper has your name, the date, and a title. Hand it in and spend the rest of your time exploring these two websites.
