This WebQuest aims at raising the students' awareness of environmental issues while teaching vocabulary. The students are supposed to be responsible for their own learning.
In this WebQuest, firstly, you will watch a video about landfills. There will be some activities for you to do after watching the video. After finishing the activities, you are supposed to come up with solutions to prevent pollution. It could be for any kind of pollution such as air pollution, water pollution, etc. You are going to write about 8-10 sentences. Also, you are going to do some research about zero-waste movement and explain it with your own words and give your opinions about the topic in a paragraph in 120-140 words.

In this task, you are going to watch a video called "Where does our trash go?". While watching the video, note down the advice that is mentioned in the video. After finishing the video, explain these vocabulary items in your words.
Then, the next task is to write 8-10 sentences to prevent pollution and reduce trash. While doing this activity, you can make use of the advice mentioned in the video and you should add your own ideas, as well. After finishing these tasks, you will search about zero-waste movement. When you have found enough information, write about a paragraph of 120-140 words. Explain the movement with your own words, include your ideas about it and in what ways it made you reflect on your lifestyle and habits and whether you will take action to increase the amount of waste you produce.

At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to share their opinions about waste reduction, pollution and zero- waste movement. Also, they will be able to come up with solutions to reduce waste and they will also be conscious about their shopping and disposal habits.
