Task

Earlier this year, the major motion picture Hidden Fences was released and to the surprise of many, told the unknown story of fascinating women who had helped the NASA space program.
As students, it is very important that we know and understand about those who have helped our world. In honor of Women's History Month, and Mother's Day, which will be celebrated when you turn in your report, you are to research a female hero and create a report. By researching a famous female hero's life you will gain an appreciation of the person and a better understanding of our community.
Together with a partner you will follow the instructions on the process page answering the questions on the handout by following the links provided to the appropriate website and pages. You will have the entire lesson today as well as multiple lesson time in the next few weeks. The answers you complete from the links will be your research to write an expository report on your subject. Your completed project will be due on May 5, 2017.
As you research your topic I want you to keep in mind the importance of the person you are researching and think about why you may not have heard about them before.
Process

Conclusion

Now that you are familiar with the context of your female hero, you will have a better understanding on the life that they have lived and the important change they made in your life.
We will be holding an Open House on May 12, 2017 and I will be looking for a few volunteers to dress up like their famous female. Our famous females will be present to share their accomplishments to our visitors. Please let me know if you would be interested in representing your famous female at our event.
If you are not interested in representing your famous female - Your research project will be proudly displayed during our Open House on May 12, 2017 for all visitors to enjoy reading.
