Fantastic Pets!

Introduction

Hello, guys! My name is Kitty Retriever and I love pets! Next month, I'm moving to a bigger house and I've decided to adopt a pet or even two, but I want them to be special and fun. Will you help me find the perfect pet?

Task

Are you ready to begin?

We will watch a song video about pets, we will talk about different pets and create our unique "Crazy Pets" together! Then, you are going to use this information to create a special pet for me and present it to us!

 

 

Process

To begin with, form pairs. One pair will be Team A and one pair will be Team B. Our WebQuest for the perfect pet has 8 steps.

1) Play the "I Have a Pet" song until 01:00: https://supersimple.com/song/i-have-a-pet/

  • Team A is going to watch this part of the video and fill in Table 1A.
  • Team B is going to only listen to this part of the video and fill in Table 1B.

5) Did you know? Different pets do different things! Watch the "Some Pets" story until 1:56 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOGSedNnjVI and match the animals with the verbs in Table 4.

6) Crazy animals time! In small cards write:

  • an animal
  • a color
  • a thing an animal can do (e.g. run, sit, play...)
  • a word that describes an animal (big, small, furry, cute, funny...)
  • a type of food

7) Now, we'll mix the cards together and pick a card from each group to make crazy phrases like this:

I have a funny purple zebra that likes to sleep and eat pasta.

8) Now, create your own crazy phrase about your special, crazy pet! Then, draw a picture of your crazy pet for Kitty Retriever, show it to the class and describe it with your crazy phrase.

Evaluation

Get 1 star for each thing on the list:

-Work in pairs well

-Draw a crazy pet

-Present it to the class.
