I am Tyler's..
In Fight Club the narrator finds a book in Tyler's hose about a man named Joe. The entire book is in first person of Joe's internal body parts. The narrator refers a lot of his situations to this book throughout the entire Fight Club novel. Your second assignment is to write a story similar to Joe's book, except you are writing in the first person of Tyler's organs, muscles, and bones! Pick an interesting scene in the book where you can capture the metaphorical feelings of Tyler's innards such as when he gets in a fight. This assignment is a minimum of five paragraphs, be creative!
Marla's Point of View
Marla Singer is a Tyler's girlfriend throughout the story. She knows that she is dating the narrator but he does not know that. As you find out later in the story the narrator and Tyler are the same person. Write a story from the point of view of Marla Singer. Explain how she feels dating a guy who doesn't know he is dating her back. Explain how she sees this whole operation going down. This assignment is a minimum of five paragraphs, be creative!
Visual Rules
Design a visual of Fight club's rules and Project Mayhem's rules. This could be done on poster board, slide show, or a Prezi it up to you! Describe the rules for each and compare and contrast the two sets of rules. Be creative have fun and use lots of color and visuals!
Research Paper - Insomnia
For the first part of your assignment research the effects on Insomnia and what it does to a persons body and mental state. Try to understand what the narrator of your book is feeling and how it develops the plot of Fight Club. This assignment is a minimum of three pages, go longer if you need it, Insomnia is a very interesting subject and fun to learn about! Include a works cited page and in-text citations.
Compare and contrast the book to the movie
Fight Club the book and Fight Club the movie are very similar but yet very different. Your Final assignment is to watch the movie and write a three page essay on how they are similar and different. Why do you think that things were changed for the big screen?
