The future of the Video Game Industry

Introduction

Fast-forward to 2019 and not much has changed. You're highly unlikely to see Sony or Microsoft showcase a game, let alone announce a new console or product. But if you look closely, you might get a peek into the future of interactive entertainment .

 

Where do you see the Video Game Industry in 5 years?

Task

In groups

  1. Look into the following sites and answer the following question: Where do you see the Video Game Industry in 5 years?

 

 

2. Create a presentation of in Powerpoint slide with 5 ideas minimum and 10 ideas maximum.  Think of technological changes, social and cultural changes

3. You presentation should also include your opinion as if the future of gaming is bright or dim. Your presentation should also include if you think the technological advances would be as dramatic as in the last 50 years

First part:

Due Today March 8th

  • work with your group
  • name your group
  • write down the members of your group in a piece of paper or in a Powerpoint slide to be emailed to me or handed to me in person today before the end of the class (sumara.prince@esne.es)
  • Write the ideas you came up with in the previous discussion regarding Where do you see the game industry in 5 years

Second Part

Due March 15th

Search the websites and read about it

  • Include your opinion as to whether your see a BRIGHT FUTURE OR NOT

 

Evaluation
  • The presentation should include a title
  • The names of the team
  • a Reference of the websites and/or articles research
  • Having answered the question: Where do we see the gaming industry in 5 years or in the short term?
  • Having given an opinion regarding the bright or dull future of the gaming industry
  • Using good vocabulary, grammar
  • Having + participle
  • Having given your rationale behind each idea you have
    • example: Our group sees the video game industry HAVING EXPERIENCED yet another crisis BECAUSE the market is saturated. In addition, we see the industry having provided people with the opportunity to visit historical sites virtually
  • Having used linkers of addition/ and reason
