Introduction
Look around you! Geometry is everywhere; in the classrooms, in the canteen, in the library, and even outdoors! In this WedQuest you are going to explore geometry through different kinds of activities. When you have finished all of the activities, you will not only know the names and shapes of many geometric terms, but you will be aware of their importance and presence in your everyday life.
Task
Your teacher gave you a group assignment. You are going to create a commercial showing on how geometry is used all around us. Your team will be going to chase geometry all around the school for the commercial. Open your eyes widely at all times look at everything and ready your cameras to take the picture of the geometry. In this task hard work and cooperation are needed for the completion and success of the assignment.
Make a PowerPoint presentation and be prepared to present this to your teacher and to the class.
Process
Step 1
To begin your assignment your team must choose on a mathematical name of the team. Once you have chosen make a nameplate for your team.
Step 2
Your team needs to decide which geometric terms you will be going use for your presentation. You need to have at least 10 different geometric figures in your presentation. You can use the links below if you need to make sure that you know figure. Each member of the team should capture two geometric objects
Step 3
Make a PowerPoint presentation to show how geometry is all around us. See to it that the names of the geometric figures you find and its explanation are included.
Step 4
Present your presentation as a group. All of you should have a discussing part in the presentation.
