Let us get right into today's lesson and activities!

You will be guessing today's topic for our Science class.

But before you do so, can you remember ALL the things you ate yesterday?

Task

Instructions: Draw a table with 4 columns and 2 rows. In the first column, write down all the things you ate yesterday, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, also snacks or supper if any. Your table should look like this:

Leave the other 3 columns empty for now. You will be given five (5) minutes to complete this activity.

Process

After you have finished writing down all the things you ate yesterday.

1. Each student will present to the class what they have written.

2. While each student presents, the rest of the class will critique your classmates' foods by answering the following questions:

    a) Did they eat any healthy or unhealthy foods?

    b) How do you know it is healthy or unhealthy food?

    c) Which of the foods do you think are alike?

    d) How do you think the type of food made them feel?

    e) What is similar and different among the foods?

3. After all of you have presented, we will all watch another video, Go, Grow and Glow Foods - YouTube

Evaluation

After watching that video, you will put the headings "Go, Grow and Glow Foods" in the table that you drew. Then, you will categorize the food you ate yesterday under the appropriate headings. Your table should look like this:

Students will volunteer to share with the class how they have categorized the food items.

Conclusion

Go foods are foods that give our bodies energy. They help us to run, jump and play. Examples of go foods are bread, cereal, rice.

Grow foods are foods that help our bodies to grow. Developing strong bones, teeth and muscles. Examples are milk, egg, fish, meat, cheese.

Glow foods are foods that provide our bodies with vitamins and minerals to protect us from diseases and to make us healthy. Examples of glow foods are carrots, melon, pineapple, broccoli.
