Grade 12 Mathematical Literacy Finance (interest, banking, inflation)


Loans and investment are part of our live, and are constantly used, for instance people when want to buy a house or a car and doesn't have enough money they do a loan and others they invest for the things they want or maybe if they want to start a business.

There is two types of investments which are retirement annuities and stokvels.

Retirement annuities is the money that is placed into a special fund.

Every month a payment is made to this fund.

The fund earns interest and it grows in s compound way.

At a certain age ( normally at 65, the investor can draw a monthly payment as an income replacement in thier retirement.

Stokvels is the group of people pool thier money to make regular contributions to the people.

In our rural areas they normally do stokvels for December grocery.
