Process

1. Usually a type of hat was worn by them it was a big hat with a belt & buckle. There was another hat that was worn which was a hat with a feather . There was something known as falling ruffs which are collars people during the Elizabeth periods wore (men &women wore this ) . High heels were a popular shoe both men and women also wore .

2.They never dressed how we call "high class", because it is a sin to their religion . They dressed very simple .

3. Homes in Salem had small windows and wooden frames. The churches were made of wood also . An inclosed wooden fence is known as a palisade , it's used to protect the house from attacks & harsh weather conditions .

4. children were severly punished by parents . They felt no remorse about punishment . They believed children entered the world with sin and could be redeemed through religious obedience . Children didn't play with toys, boys did carpentry and girls did chores .

5. Puritans ate the crops they grew which consisted of corn , lettuce , and pumpkins . They also ate pigs, chickens,and cows in which they raised. They ate dinner at noon because the candles did not provide enough light after dark .

6. The puritans strong religious beliefs , they fasted . puritans grew their food by growing crops & hunting food for animals just as god intended .
