Historical Illinois Landmarks

Introduction

Most of you have lived in Illinois your whole life, but you have never known the significance of certain area, buildings, and streets. This project will help you familiarize areas you have previously over looked. 

12 Historic Landmarks Everyone Should Visit In Illinois

Task

You are required to choose a historical Illinois landmark and give at least three interesting facts about your chosen area. You will be able to research your landmark and present your facts to the class. This project will help you for a future project in this class, and you will be able to remember these fun facts about your state in the future!

Process

1. Choose a landmark from this list:

2. Research your chosen landmark using this website first, then you can use google for more information:

3. Write down at least 3 interesting facts you found about your landmark on a piece of paper to present to the class.

Conclusion

During this class, you will have a video project documenting a historical landmark in Illinois. This webquest allows you to get an understanding of what will come, and provide you with good sources to use later on. Students, feel free to write down notes while your peers are presenting to look back on in the future. After hearing all the facts from other students, which landmark did find the most interesting and why?
