Introduction
Have you ever wondered how plants reproduce in the wild, without the help of humans?
Pollinators are responsible... but did you know the loss of pollinators could result in the loss of LOTS of your favorite foods?
As you work through this webquest, you'll learn about popular pollinators and create a poster to share how they are responsible for some popular crops we eat.
Task
After going through the "Process" section of this webquest, you'll create a poster for local stores that sell plants, that are pollinated by other organisms, in order to keep their species surviving. (Grass Pad, Lowes, Home Depot, etc.) You will select ONE crop from the given list on which to focus.
You poster must meet the following requirements:
- I can demonstrate how my chosen plant could pollinate from year to year This means: what pollinates it and how?
- I can explain the importance of preserving the insects or animals that pollinate it. This means: what would happen if these organisms stopped pollinating or did not exist.
- You may use any format you wish to make the poster, but it must be able to be printed out. (Google drawing, Google Docs, Smore, Google Slide, good old fashioned paper and pencil- or a combination of these. OR if you know of another format, please share!)
- Spell checked and proofread by a peer for grammar.
- List of your references (EVERY ONE YOU USE, INCLUDING PICTURES)
