Research how to save money for college and use this information to help you prepare your google presentation. You'll be presenting your google slides to your classmates.
Task
Today you will be researching how you save money for college.
Read four articles and complete a RACE ticket for each article.
Submit the tickets to your teacher.
Use this information to create a google slide presentation with your group, and share this presentation with your classmates.
Process
Step One: Read the article, "How to Pay for College" and answer the following question using RACE:
What are three ways in which you can start saving for college today?
Step Two: Watch the video, "Opening a 529 Plan, Should You Do It?" and answer the following question using RACE:
What are the benefits of opening a 529 account? Can anyone open one?
Step Three: Go to a computer and explore the Suffolk Community College website and explore the New York University's website. Look at the differences in tuition, which is the cost to attend each school. Create a chart in which you compare the two.
Step Four: Read the article "College Board Scholarship is Not Based on Grades" and answer the following question using RACE:
What is a scholarship and can undocumented students get them?
