Identifying Energy Sources Research Task

Task

  1. On a new page in your book, rule a margin and write today’s date
  2. Write the title – Identifying Energy Sources Research Task
  3. Decide which 5 energy sources you would like to research.
  4. Complete the questions below for each of the five energy sources you have chosen.
  5. Draw a picture of your energy source.
  6. Use the resources you have been instructed to use. These will either be the classroom library books and/or the iPads/computers.
  7. Use pencil. Make sure your handwriting is neat and tidy.
  8. Make sure you are answering the questions in your own words.
  9. Check your work for spelling and punctuation – full stops, capital letters.
  10. Once you have finished, complete the self assessment checklist.
  11. Hand your work to the teacher for marking.

  • Solar energy
  • Wind energy
  • Geothermal energy
  • Fossil fuels – coal, oil, natural gas
  • Nuclear energy
  • Biomass energy
  • Hydroelectric energy
  • Wave energy
  • Tidal energy
  • Hydrogen energy

 

Answer these questions for each of the five energy sources you have chosen.

Write the question in your book first, leave a line and then write the answer.

  3. Where is the energy source found? 
  4. How is it recovered?
  5. What do we use it for? 
  6. One advantage of the energy source
  7. One disadvantage of the energy source
  8. Any other interesting facts about the energy source
