Information Technology Flowcharts

Introduction

Algorithm Flowchart

Ms. Hamilton wants to visit the beach however she wants to visit when the temperature is just right. You are a programmer therefore help Ms. Hamilton to create an algorithm so that it will help her to find the average temperature on any particular day so that she can know when to visit the beach.

Ms. Hamilton needs to know about Algorithm, pseudocode, and flowcharts. Explain to Ms. Hamilton the program and how to use the program using a flow chart diagram.

Task

By the end of this Webquest, you will be able to:

  1. Define what is an Algorithm
  2. Explain what is a Flowchart.
  3. Identify the symbols used in a Flowchart.
  4. Design a Flowchart.
Process

Step 1

Watch the following video below. After watching the video:

  • Define what is an algorithm
  • List the symbols that you saw at 0:16 seconds in the video.

Step 2

Click on the link (https://quizlet.com/_983c7i?x=1jqt&i=3dbmzb) to see the functions of the symbols of a flowchart and the definition of a flow chart.

Step 3

Click the link (https://dk-media.s3.amazonaws.com/media/2mun2/downloads/368356/Flowchart_PPPTFFV.pptx) for an interactive PowerPoint, while viewing the PowerPoint make notes on the following.

What are the three named flowcharts?

You should be able to insert a written program into a flowchart.

Step 4

Complete this example.

Write a pseudocode algorithm that reads three scores and print the highest and the lowest of the scores.

Write the program and draw the flowchart.

You can do this!!!!

Evaluation

Alright, now that we know what is a flowchart and how to use a flowchart click the link provided to do the Assignment a rubric is also present.
