What is the solar system?

A solar system is a star and all of the objects that travel around it, planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and meteoroids.

The solar system consists of an average star called the sun. The solar system together with the local stars visible on a clear night orbits the center of our home, the galaxy, a spiral disk of 200 billion stars we called the milky way.

Most of the satellites of the planets and the asteroids revolve around the sun in the same direction, in nearly circular orbit.

What are the eight planets?

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.

Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are called the gaseous planet.
