You are the researcher for your company and ; your boss will give you a promotion next month If your research is outstanding. It is a very important first assignment that could lead to a gain or you being fired, depending on how well your findings are.
Task
You are going to research a country outside of North America and prepare a report for your boss. You will determine whether or not you gain a promotion or not and if your country will take part in international trade. You need to research the economic factors which would affect this decision. You are going to select a consumer good to produce and a country to research. You will analyze your information and prepare a presentation to make to your boss. Based upon your research and analysis, you will make your recommendation to your boss whether or not to participate in national trade.
Process
Determine what consumer good your company is producing
Determine which country your company is considering
Research that country’s economic system and infrastructure.
Where is the country located?
How large is the country? How does it compare in size to the U.S.?
What is the exchange rate?
What are the major natural resources of the country? What are the major industries?
Prepare your presentation based on the information you have discovered. Your presentation may be a PowerPoint presentation, I-movie, or video. You must include visual documentation. You may also include posters.
Conclude your presentation with a recommendation whether or not to participate in international trade. If you recommend not to participate in international trade, where will you research next? Back your decision up with facts!
