Introduction
Imagine drinking water, eating fish, and breathing air all with tiny plastic pieces you can't see. That's happening right now.
Microplastics are smaller than a rice grain that we cannot see but scientists found them in oceans, rivers, and even in our bodies.
You are now our Environmental Team. Your job is to find out where they come from and how to stop them.
Task
Team of 3-4. Create one simple report:
1. Cause Map - 4 sources of microplastics
2. Travel Poster - How it goes from land to ocean to humans
3. Solution Card - 3 easy ways to reduce it
Process
Step 1: Read the link 1 & 2. What is microplastic? What is primary vs secondary?
Step 2: Divide the causes:
- Member A: Big plastics breaking down
- Member B: Clothes / washing
- Member C: Car tires / city dust
- Member D: Face wash / products
Step 3: Draw how microplastic travels: from land to River to ocean to fish to us
Step 4: Make your poster in Canva

Evaluation
Science (4) - 4 causes correct = 4, 1-2 causes = 2, none = 1
Research (4) - Used 3 links + numbers = 4, 1-2 links = 2, none = 1
Poster (4) - Clear map + 3 solutions = 4, messy = 2, none = 1
Teamwork (4) - All speak = 4, 1 only = 2, none = 1
Grade: 14-16=A, 11-13=B, 7-10=C, 4-6=Fail
Conclusion
CONCLUSION:
Great job, Environmental Team! You have uncovered the invisible threat in our ecosystem.
now you already know that microplastics do not just appear but they come from us. From plastic bottles breaking and form into pieces and from washing our clothes, from car tires on the road, and from products we use every day. They start on land, go to the river, reach the ocean, enter the fish, and come back to us.
The problem is big, but the solution starts small - with you. Your poster is not just homework, it is a lesson that can teach your family and community how to protect our ecosystem.
REFLECTION:
As students, what cause of microplastics surprised you the most? What object in your own room or bag is releasing microplastics right now without you knowing? And what is one simple habit you will change this week to help reduce microplastics in our ecosystem?
