World War II Military Equipment

Introduction

World War II was a time when all new technologies were used during warfare. War was changed forever with the introduction of better weapons, ground vehicles, airplanes, and ships. It was not only the Allies who had advanced technology far beyond the trenches of the First World War, the Nazi’s often had technology far surpassing what they had used only twenty years earlier.

Task

Your task is to evaluate the differences between equipment used by the Allies and the Axis Powers in World War II. You will study two:

Ships
Tanks
Weapons
Airplanes

one from each power. You are allowed to choose any ship, tank, weapon, or plane you want when doing this assignment, so long as you have one from each power and they were used during the war. once you have evaluated you must make a choice as to which one was more effective of the two.

Process

You will search the net for multiple sources, at least one for each item. Wikipedia may be used as a start but should not be used as a citation itself, it will be helpful with the many lists it has on its database. Here is a list of sites to get you started, but do go off the path and try to find information I may not know.

A total of 15 Points.

Bonus: If you can determine two of the World War II weapons I have used then you will earn 1 extra bonus point!

Conclusion

I hope you all have learned something new about the ways that battles were fought in the Second World War. It is important to remember our history so that we may learn from our mistakes and to move past them. I hope this excercise has sparked an interest in historical warfare in all of you.
