Bienvenidos! Welcome to Latin America!  You have guests visiting your home in a specific Latin American country.  You are very proud to host, and you want them to feel comfortable during their stay.  Create an informative and authentic "book" about your beloved country, sharing the interesting details of everyday life.  They'll want to assimilate, and live like a native, so make sure you include an accurate account of what it's like.

Task

You will create a video diary for your country in Latin American.  You will use Book Creator to present your information. Your project should be visually pleasing, and an accurate representation of what it's like to live an authentic life in that country.

Topics and/or information you should research and include in your book:

  • Capital and Flag

  • Location--include a map as well

  • Language(s)

  • Standard of Living--Does this country have a high, medium, or low standard of living? Give examples: typical homes, meals, incomes, vehicles, possessions, etc...  Think about the "Dollar Street" activity.

  • Main attraction in that country --what should be visited? (Museum, gallery, sports arena, park, historic site, etc...)

  • Music--what type of music is traditionally performed here?

  • Weather--What is the weather like at different times of the year?

  • Work--how do people make money? Does landscape/weather/resources dictate this type of work?

  • Food--what should people expect to eat? What SHOULD they eat while there?                                                                        --Include an authentic recipe with ingredients and a visual

  • Clothing--what is typical authentic clothing?

  • Holidays--what holidays or celebrations are traditionally observed?

  • Education--what is education like in your country?  (Include literacy rate)

  • Money--what form of currency is used?  What is the equivalent to a U.S. dollar?

  • Main sport or activity--what recreation is important to people there?
