Introduction
This WebQuest will familiarize you with the basic leaderships theories. You will also be asked to find a different leader that you believe fits that style of leadership. The five main leadership theories are: trait-based, behavioral, situational, functional, and transformative.
This WebQuest was designed in order for you to do research online and discuss your findings in class. After reading this Introduction, please go on to the Task section.
Task
Using the internet and the book as a resource, you will define the five basic leadership theories: traits-based, behavioral, situational, functional, and transformative. After defining please list your source of where the definition came from.
The second part of the assignment is to chose a leader that you believe represents that style. Leaders can be coaches, politicians, teachers, etc. Try to think outside of the box when choosing your leaders.
Process
1.) On a blank Word Document, type out the five leadership styles: trait-based, behavioral, situational, functional, and transformative.
2.) Using the internet, define each theory of leadership. List your source of information.
3.) Choose a leader that you believe represents that style of leadership.
4.) Explain why you chose said leaders and be prepared to discuss this in class.
