Learning the ABC's

Introduction

Today class, we will be learning our ABC’s together. This will be a project that we will all work together to do.

We are going to start by singing the ABC’s with each other. Attached below is the YouTube video that will help us remember our ABC’S.

Task

Review the ABC chart that is on your desk, each of you are to repeat the ABC’s aloud quietly while pointing to the chart so that I know what letter you are on.

Process

Now that we have all reviewed our charts several times, we are going to now be in groups of four. I have the ABC’s split between four people. I want each of you to put them in the correct order and once it is your section, say them aloud so that your group can hear you.

Conclusion

Now we are going to fill out the sheet that is on your desk together. On the sheet you will see there are some blanks in-between some of the ABC’s. We will also refer to the YouTube video if we need help remembering.

During this project, I decided to use my textbook as a reference and a children YouTube video to help my students learn their ABC’s by singing catchy riddles. One thing that I would change about this assignment is to rather just use our textbook. It explains how to make a WebQuest and tells all about how they are helpful in the classroom. Also, when trying to use the attached sites for help, it seemed so confusing so I decided to refer to my book and this is the best that I could understand it. I genuinely hope that I did this correctly. I also tried to look at the example that it shows our professor to be the author, but it would not pull anything else up, just the title page. I tried it several different times and nothing worked.

I feel that this is something that I am going to be able to use in future classroom. Also, I feel that this is something that the students can also get use to as they will be able to remember the different parts of the WebQuest and know when we are almost finished. The reason that I chose to the Kindergarten ABC’s is because this is something that I knew I could find a video on YouTube that would keep my students' attention. I feel that the YouTube video is very age appropriate for Kindergartners.
