Leeton and Agriculture

Introduction

Today you will be completing an inquiry-based research project through this WebQuest. You will be in charge of creating a brochure which tourists can use when finding out about farming in your hometown, Leeton.

Task

The Tourist Information Centre of Leeton needs your help to find information on the different farms around the town for their annual Agricultural Show. You will be in charge of providing detailed information about the towns farming life and how it impacts the community and also how people shape the environment. You will create a brochure which will be displayed at the Tourist Information Centre.

Your brochure will need to include:

  • A front cover with image, title, and catchy phrase
  • General information about the town
  • Farming industries: overview and one specific one including farming practices etc.
  • A map of Leeton
  • Interesting facts
  • Farming Institutes e.g. Yanca Agricultural Institute or Murrumbidgee Irrigation
  • Why farming is important to the community and
  • Indigenous farming practices.

You will be provided with a brochure template, you can use this and change it to your own style or create our own from scratch. It can be drawn or computer-generated.
