Introduction

Adjectives

Adjectives are describing words. Adjectives are also used to modify nouns and pronouns.

This web quest examines the part of speech actives, stating the definition and giving examples of adjectives. You will be required to actively participate in the activities as well as provide your feedback cooperatively and individually where necessary. Below are examples that you can read to familiarize yourself better with adjectives. Additionally you can follow the links attached to this page to gain a better understanding of adjectives.

Examples:

It is a blue one.(In this example, the adjective blue modifies the pronoun one.)Although less common, adjectives can also modify pronouns.

Adjectives Modify Pronouns

Examples:Follow the yellow cab. (In this example, the adjective yellow modifies the noun cab.)

The word elephant is a noun. Adjectives are added to nouns to state what kind, what color, which one or how many. Adjectives are said to modify nouns and are necessary to make the meanings of sentences clearer or more exact.

Examples:Large elephant, Grey elephant, Friendly elephant,Large, grey, and friendly are all examples of adjectives. In the examples below, these adjectives are used to describe an elephant.

This was WebQuest was created for students at the secondary level (Grade 7) to have them discover what Adjectives are and provide students with different examples of adjectives

Students are guided throughout the quest and are provided with the various tools to improve their knowledge. It will also aid them in improving their creative writing skills, critical thinking skills and imagination.

Teachers are expected to guide the students through the process and activities presented. They should also ensure that evaluation of students' work is done fairly and in a timely manner.

The teacher should ensure that collaborative learning environment is created and each students are provided with the opportunity to develop holistically.
