Introduction
As students, we make decisions every day. Sometimes the decision is easy, but there are also times when we have to choose between what we want and what we know is right. Our decisions can affect not only ourselves but also our family, friends, classmates, and other people. In this activity, you will look at some situations that students usually experience. You will learn how values such as honesty, respect, responsibility, and self-discipline can help us make better decisions.
Task
Your task is to make a simple guide about making responsible decisions. You will research the topic using the given online resources and answer the situations provided. For each situation, you will identify the problem, possible choices, possible consequences, and the values that can help in making the right decision. After completing the activity, you will make a one-page poster or infographic showing the important things you learned about responsible decision-making.
Process
Follow these steps:
Step 1: Read the online resources provided by your teacher. Take note of the important ideas about values, responsibility, and decision-making.
Step 2: List at least five values that you think are important when making decisions. You may include honesty, respect, responsibility, patience, self-discipline, and empathy.
Step 3: Read and think about the following situations:
- Your friend asks you to let them copy your answers during a test.
- You see a hurtful comment about your classmate on social media.
- You promised your parents that you would finish your schoolwork, but your friends invited you to go out.
For each situation, answer the following questions:
- What is the problem?
- What choices can the person make?
- What could happen because of each choice?
- What value should guide the decision?
- What would you do in that situation? Explain your answer.
Step 4: Create your one-page poster or infographic. Include the five values you identified, the situations, possible consequences, and the responsible actions.
Step 5: Write a short reflection about what you learned from the activity and how you can apply it in your daily life.

What is important is to think first, consider other people, and choose an action that we will not regret later.
