Making Sir Edward's favourite pasta --Spaghetti aglio e olio

Introduction

In Italian, aglio means garlic and olio means oil.

Sir Edward loves the flavour of garlic, especially serving with spaghetti so let's learn how to cook this traditional Italian dish.

Task

After watching the youtube tutorial then make your own version of spaghetti aglio e olio.

Process

Ingredients to prepare:

300g long pasta (spaghetti or linguine, depends on what you have in you kitchen)

6 cloves of garlic

1/3 cup of extra virgin olive oil

Some chilli flakes

A bunch of parsley

Coarse salt

Black pepper

  1. Slice the garlic into thin pieces. (You can use 3 to 6 garlic depending on how much you love garlic, Sir Edward prefers 6, or even more)
  2. Roughly chop up parsley.
  3. Add about 5 tablespoons of salt into a pot of boiling water. (Better add more salt in this stage, you will not add any moe salt after boiling the pasta)
  4. Chunk in 300g of pasta. (Always cook it "al dente", tips: 1 minute less than the pack instruction)
  5. Pour olive oil into the pan, then add in the sliced garlic and cook for 5 minutes under low heat.
  6. You may add any ingredients (shrimp, bacon or clams) into the garlic oil, if you want to.
  7. Transfer the cooked pasta into the hot pan, mix them well.
  8. Add desirable amount of chilli flakes.
  9. Add parsley and mix them well.
