Good Afternoon my grade 4 students for today’s lesson we will be focusing on Place Value, Face Value, and True Value.
Place Value Is defined as the value of each digit in a number. The value of every digit in a number is a value, which is decided by the
the position that the digit holds in the number.
Face Value - Face value represent the actual value of the digit. For example, if 567 is a number, then the face value of 6.
True Value- the actual value of the digit 2 in the number 1234 is 200.
Place value * face value = true value
The students will:
1. Type these letters into google mathsbot, and select the manipulates that said PLACE VALUE COUNTERS.
On the right corner of the screen, you will see the word NONE. Select the drop-down arrow and select TABLE ( Words)
Once this is done, you will represent
A. 263
B. 4587
C. 56
First, you will drag either 1, 10, 100, or 1000 to represent the number.
Example 1. To represent 145 on the place value chart, you will drag five ones into the units column, four tens into the tens column, and
one hundred into the hundreds column.
Secondly, take a screenshot of your place value table and upload it to the task section.
2. Watch and listen attentively to the videos, so that they can respond to the questions asked.
3. Indicate clear understanding by providing their view and reasoning when responding to questions.
