The Mental Health

Introduction

Mental health determines how you think, feel and act. Good mental health is when you feel positive about yourself and cope well with the everyday pressures. If you experience issues dealing with everyday problems, it could be a sign of a mental health problem and should be addressed immediately.

Task

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices.  Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

Process

When it comes to mental illness, recovery can mean different things. For some people, it will mean no longer having symptoms of their mental health condition. For others, it will mean managing their symptoms, regaining control of their life and learning new ways to live the life they want.

About Self-Care:

  • Get regular exercise.
  • Just 30 minutes of walking every day can help boost your mood and improve your health.
  • Eat healthy, regular meals and stay hydrated.
  • Make sleep a priority.
  • Try a relaxing activit.
  • Set goals and priorities.
  • Practice gratitude.
  • Focus on positivity.
  • Stay connected.
Evaluation

Evaluation of mental health is the basis for improving care to people with mental illness. It is vital to know whether interventions are beneficial or harmful, and whether they offer value for money. Mental health interventions need to be understood both in terms of their active ingredients and how they fit within their context. Such combined interventions, often including pharmacological, psychological, and social elements, are the epitome of ‘complex interventions’ and their evaluation poses considerable challenges. In this chapter we shall discuss definitions of evaluation, and go on to discuss why evaluate, what to evaluate, and how to evaluate mental health services.

Conclusion

It is essential to realize that it is not just the person with mental illness who needs help but also their loved ones and the community. In conclusion, mental health can be challenging to deal with. However, it is not impossible to overcome. You have to be strong and never lose your determination.
