Everyday, we all affect the environment in some way. The influence we make on the environment determines the fate of the world.
With the help of this webquest, you will be aware of the impacts of humans on the environment.
A campaign which you would initiate in the school will make everyone sensitive and responsible about this issue.
Task
There are two tasks you will complete.
1- In order to initiate a campaign; firstly, you will investigate the topics which you will talk about in your work. There will be three people in each of the group, and each of members of the group will be responsible for one topic. The topics are “Pollution”, “Water Waste”, and “Energy Waste”.
The reports will be put together and the members of the each group will prepare a final report that covers all of the topics given to them. And then, the reports will be published on the class newspaper.
2- For the second task, you will initiate a campaign depending on the reports that you have prepared for the class newspaper. ( You should put a name for your campaign) To your project, you can include the facts about the nature, some news around the world, and lastly the suggestions about what could be done for the environment.
The groups will explain their ideas or recommendations to the other groups in the class by using any form of presentation they want (PowerPoint or Prezi presentation, posters, videos, models…). All of the members of the groups will have something to say about their topics in this task.
At last, the groups vote for the other groups’ work/presentation; and the campaign of the group that gets the highest number of the votes will be implemented in the class.
Process
For the first task, follow these steps:
1- Find some facts, news and interviews about the each topic. (The links provided under the page are available for this purpose.)
2- After gathering the information about each topic, put them together and prepare a final report to be published on the school newspaper.
In your report, give a place to some facts, news around the world, and ideas in the interviews you’ve listened.
For the second task, follow these steps:
1- Use the information you’ve gathered in the first step.
2- Record at least five facts or news and three ways about how to care for the environment for each of the topics.
3- By putting together all of the works together; as a group, prepare a campaign which has some recommendations for the school.
4- In order to put your campaign into action, make your work persuading and interesting. Besides, you can make it look professional by using posters, brochures, videos etc.

By presenting the campaign you have prepared as a group, you will have initiated a sensitive project and make everyone enthusiastic about taking precautions to protect the environment. This assignment was just a beginning of learning the ways to care for the environment. It is up to you if you would like to learn more about this issue.
