Mission #22

Introduction

Let's go back in time 200 years.  It's 1823 and the Spanish government has decided to establish 1 more mission in California.

Guess who they've put in charge?  YOU!  Can your team work together to create the final mission?

Task

Your team will be in charge of everything about this mission:

-What should it be called?

-What date it will open?

-Where will it be located?

-What is the main purpose(s) of the mission?

-What will the mission look like?

-What buildings should be on the property?

-Who will live here and what will a typical day be like for them?

You will then present your plan to the class via poster, slideshow, oral presentation, etc.

Have fun and you let your creativity flow!

Process

Before you can design your own mission, you will first need to get ideas by researching/learning about 3 other missions.

1. Complete the comparision sheets for 3 missions of your choice.  (This will be provided in class)

2. Then brainstorm with your group on what you want YOUR mission to be.   Be sure to answer at least 5 of the questions posed in the task portion of this WebQuest.

3. Be as creative as you'd like when deciding how to present your ideas to the class.
