Introduction

Welcome to the creative writing final. Here, you will visit the links on the process page, follow the instructions, and write your answers on Penzu.com.

 

There will be a 5 minute break half way through.

Task

First thing to do is to log on to Penzu.

Make sure you are using FIREFOX or CHROME.

Click here to open Penzu:  Penzu.com

Make sure you log on to Penzu Classic, not the new Penzu. Do this now.

You will see two assignments to be completed:

1) Final Exam: Picture To Words

2) Final Exam: Writing A Sequel

Here, you will do your writing. PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO SUBMIT!!!

Process

Follow the directions below and write your answers on penzu.com:

 

1) Picture to Words:  Your job is choose one picture below and write a 200-300 word descriptive paragraph. Remember to be specific. Write the paragraph in first person. That means,  a character is telling a story that takes place in the picture. You will be using the pronoun "I".

Give the paragraph some action, and within the action, use the sensory details to paint a very clear picture of the sights, smells, sounds, and textures of the scene.

Must contain sensory details-

(Sight, Sound, Texture/Touch, Smell/Taste)

Before Writing: Make a list on scrap paper of the sensory details you can put in your paper.

During Writing: Write your  paragraph including these details on Penzu.com for the Final Exam: Picture To Words assignment.

After Writing: Read over your paragraph and check for spelling, capitalization, and grammar errors.

2)Writing a sequel or alternative ending: Watch the following movie. Use the notesheet provided to take notes while watching the movie if you'd like. You can use the guided side or the blank side.

CHOOSE ONE OF THE OPTIONS BELOW! JUST ONE ONE ONE ONE ONE ONE ONE

SEQUEL: Write a 300-600 word sequel to the story. Think about what happens to the characters after the movie is over. This can be from the perspective of any of the characters or a new character you add.

ALTERNATIVE ENDING: Write a new ending to the story. Change it any way you want. You can even add yourself. 300-600 words.
