Introduction
Welcome to The Holocaust Webquest! Here, you will learn a bit about the origins of an extremely horrible event in our history. You will also be reading and reflecting on some excerpts from famous Holocaust literature.
Task
On this webquest, you will be...
1. Researching some basic information about the origins of the Holocaust
2. Reading some excerpts from famous Holocaust literature
3. Reflecting on these excerpts to make meaningful connections to the people affect by the Holocaust
Process
1. Answer the pre-webquest questions on your webquest guide. These do not need to be in complete sentences
2. The following 3 sources are downloaded as PDF on Canvas. They are in a folder called "Webquest Sources" under files.
The links are a hit or miss. You can try them and it should lead you to the same pages that I have made into PDFs on Canvas.
Your answers to these questions DO need to be in complete sentences. You need to summarize the information on these three PDFs to answer the questions. Your questions cannot be word-for-word from these websites. I want you to write your answers to these questions in your own words, and explain the answers in a way that demonstrate your full understanding of the questions.
3. Read the following passage from Anne Frank's Diary. If you need a refresher on who Anne Frank is, click here.
Answer the questions about Anne Frank's Diary Excerpts on your webquest guide. These are reflection questions, and do not have "correct" answers. I am looking for honest reflection and contemplation. I want to see how you engage with Anne's diary. I have provided you with 10 questions, but I ask that you choose 3 to reflect on. Pick the 3 that interest you the most; this is why I have given you so many options.
Evaluation
I will be grading your webquest guide in the following ways.
Pre-webquest Question: Completion (5 points)
Hitler's Rise to Power: Accuracy of Response (5 points) and Quality of Summary (5 points)
Anne Frank Diary: Quality of Reflection (5 points) and Conventions (5 points)
The rubric for this webquest is on Canvas, and I would like you to upload your completed webquest guide there.
