Introduction
You are in charge of a new art exhibit at a local museum that will be finished with construction in the next few months. An exhibition is a public showing of a large selection of items, often united by a theme. In this case these items will be pieces of artwork that features a specific art movement that you have chosen by random draw.

Standard - 9.1.8.J
Incorporate specific uses of traditional and contemporary technologies within the design for producing, performing and exhibiting works in the arts or the works of others.
Task
For this project you will work with another classmate. To create this exhibition you will have to complete the following:
- Briefly explain the artistic movement you are featuring
- Collect appropriate pieces of artwork to be exhibited
- Explain the details of each piece of art with a museum label
Process
Please utilize Google Slides and Docs for this assignment to ensure nothing gets lost and will save automatically. This will save you lots of time in the long run. You must work collaboratively with your partner to decide which pieces of artwork to feature in your exhibit. One member takes on the role of Art Historian and the other is the Exhibition Coordinator.
- The Art Historian should find information on the artists lives, as well as their role in the art movement you were assigned. Be sure to choose information that is pertinent to the artwork and exhibition.
- The Exhibition Coordinator should find images of the artists work that exemplify the artists artistic career the best.
1. Please briefly explain the artistic movement you are featuring for your museum exhibit. Use the following website to gain knowledge about art movements.

3. You must also explain the details of each piece of artwork you choose using a museum label, also known as a caption or a tombstone. This information should be easily accessible once you choose your pieces. Be sure to include the artists name, name of the piece, date completed, and medium used. Example below:
- Wayne Thiebaud
- Diagonal Freeway, 1993
- Acrylic on canvas

Conclusion
This activity allows students to explore artwork they may otherwise never see. It can provide excellent supplementary knowledge and understanding of art history as well. By completing this WebQuest, you have assembled an art exhibition. People who work in museums do this all the time. Hopefully you have learned something new about art movements/periods and learned about a few artists in the process.
