Following WWI, the treaty of Versaille was made, stating that Germany was to pay for all damages from the war. Germany was not to build up a military, and were forced to return conquered lands to Russia and France.

- Hitler and his troops invaded different nations and took control of people and their land.
- Rhineland, Austria, Czechoslovakia.
- All 3 of these countries were pro German.
- Germany and the Soviet Union made an agreement to not attack each other and to help each other if needed. This created an alliance that would be broken by the Germans.

- Poland was a small country with a small miltary. They were easy.
- D-day was when the Allied powers cleared the French beach in Normandy to get more troops into Germany.

- China had the natural resources that Japan needed. Jaan was broke, so they just decided to take what they needed.
- Japan wanted to expand its empire.
- Japan was getting most of their oil from America, so they decided to stop selling oil to them i hopes of slowing them down until America recovered from the war enough to stop them.
- Japan bombed Pearl Harbor because it was a huge military base.
- Japan also bombed the Phillipines, taking out even more of America's troops.

Tehran Conferance- Stalin, Churchill, and FDR plan D-Day and agree to work for piece after war
Yalta Conferance- decide what to do with post war europe and the UN(United Nations) is created
Potsdam Conferance- discuss issues with postwar Europe but can't reach any agreements; American and British leaders are worried about Stalin's goal to spread communism
