Introduction

Welcome to Web Page Design! This class will teach you how to make your own webpages, and by extension, websites.
This webquest will teach you how to make a basic webpage. But first, let's go over the basics.
A webpage is a document that uses codes and HTML tags to display information, graphics, and videos.
A website is a collection of webpages hyperlinked together.
HTML stands for hypertext markup language, it is used to code stuff on the Internet. The current version used is HTML5. HTML tags are words contained by <>, and end with </>. Here is an example of HTML used to code a webpage.

CSS, or Cascading style sheets, is another way to code, but in this activity you will learn HTML.
As you expand your knowledge and skills you can make your own personalized websites like a pro!
Task
In this webquest, you will read, watch, and search information for yourself on how to make a webpage. You will watch videos, explore websites and further search for information about web pages, website, HTML and tags.
You will learn how to:
- Tell the difference between web page and website
- Define what a web page and website is
- Tell in your opinion why you would use a web page
You will learn how to use HTML tags to:
- Make a webpage
- Change webpage background color
- How to changing font size and color
- Add images, audio, and video
- Create Hyperlinks
Process
1. To complete the task research the following
- What is a webpage?
- What is HTML?
- What are tags and the importance of tags?
- What is a website?
- Characteristics of a website.
- The different use of a sites.
- The advantage and disadvantages of a website
To start, you should know the tool you use to make a webpage
- Locate the Start menu on your computer
- Click on all programs
- Locate Notepad or Notepad+ (they may be in accessories)
Everything you code will be made in notepad. Save anything as a .html document.
Make yourself a folder on your computor or flash drive called "Web Page" to keep track of your web pages and documents you create along with images, audio or videos you use in them.
Here is the basic format used in each code in HTML

2. This site will be a useful resource for you; bookmark it. You can find different tags and tutorials of how to use them, and even some stock materials you can practice with.

4. Here is a basic template example of a html webpage. Create a basic webpage about what you have learned, do not copy-paste anything from the template. You will need to get used to typing out all the tags and codes so type it all out!
