Introduction
Revolution - a sudden or significant change in the old ways of doiong things - can occur in many areas like government, technology, or society. Revolutions in England (the English Civil War and the Glorious Revolution) and in America (the American Revolution) showed that people could rebel against unjust rulers to gain more rights. Each revolution led to many changes in government, social, and economic strucutres.
Revolutions often follow a common pattern (stages) as described by Historian Crane Brinton.
Task
The essential question of this webquest is:
* How revolutionary was the French Revolution?
To answer this essential questions you will need to complete the tasks on each slide of this webquest. As you work, consider whether or not the inequities in French social, economic, and political structures were fixed.
-Were French citizens equal in the eyes of the law?
-Did French citizens have equal economic opportunities (chances at jobs, to make money, pay fair taxes)?
-Did French citizens have a greater voice in their government?
