Prior to writing a persuasive essay, you are going to examine the arguments and positions on both sides on the issue of whether sports teams' mascots allow the reference to Native Americans. You will do this be reading articles; examining videos; and looking at surveys conducted on the issue.
Task
The Washington Redskins are a very popular local professional football team. There has been a lot of controversy over their use of a Native American face as the team logo, and whether it is offensive. You are first going to research the various arguments in favor of and against the use of Native American mascots for sports teams logos. When you are done doing your research, you are going to write a research essay of at least 5 paragraphs in which you choose one of the positions, state the reason for it, and also present the opposing point of view.
