Introduction
In a world that is ravaged by antibiotics and antivirals bacteria have found a way to thrive. I am asking you to be the biologist that I know you can be and find out how such a simple organism has managed to out wit all the biologists around the world.
Task
What role does natural selection play in antibiotic resistance or bacteria? How does that tie into evolution?
Process
For this task I want you to work in groups of 3-4 students. I am going to give you a list of websites to use to help you complete this task, and also you will have two lifelines for which you can ask me for information. I want you to use your technology and your teammates to help you solve the problem. Divide the work and communicate with your group what needs to be done.
Evaluation
After you have reviewed the information in the websites I would like your group to come up with a hypothetical lab experiment that you could use to test a bacteria for antibiotic resistance.
Conclusion
