What will I Be?

Introduction

It may not seem like it now but in little to no time you will be graduating high school and having a lot of decisions to make. This two week long web quest will help you with the difficult task of finding the right path for you and how to get there.

Task
  •  In this web quest you will have to complete the following task:
  • Figure out possible future careers.
  • Research what is needed to obtain a position in that career.
  • Write a resume for that particular profession.

Process

 

Stop freaking out. I promise that you have time to figure out what you will be doing after high school. First step in this process is to open the hyperlink at the bottom page at take the future career predictor quiz. After the quiz is completed decide if you agree or disagree with the predicted career. If by chance you disagree tell me what you believe a great future career is for you and why.

 

Next you will research your future career and what you need to do to obtain a position in the profession also all needed skills and criteria.

 

Finally using the Barry University Career Guide open Microsoft Word and make a resume following either template that applies to your chosen future profession. Be sure to look at examples to make sure you are completing your resume properly.

Evaluation

Now that you have completed your resume is complete print it out and type a two page paper answering this question.

“After completing all of the research for your chosen occupation do you still believe that this career is a good fit? If no please give specific reasons to why.”

Conclusion

             Before assignments are started a thorough explanation of the Barry University career guide and how to use it must be completed. This web quest is for all students general education and SPED. When involved with an ELL the teacher must decide if the student is able to complete the task with help from him or her. If the ELL’s levels are to low teacher needs to pair him or her with a higher level ELL or a proficient native speaker. If level is extremely low and there is no possible why the ELL will succeed with this activity. Teacher will/ should have the ELL write down jobs that he or she would like to do.  Previous knowledge of how to work the internet and word is a requirement to complete task. students alsop need prior knowledge of microsoft word, the internet, and the proper way to research information.This web quest is not totally complete it only contains the first three assignments for a full thermatic unit in titled What Will I Be. there is no exact rubric teacher grades on accurracy is following the resume formates. The paper is graded on the pemise of the student fully answering of the question, spelling and grammer.
