Introduction
The nasty effects of Chicken Pox (varicella), Measles and Mumps.

Task
Get yourself into groups of three to four.
The first part of this task is to outline the issues surrounding the communicable and chronic diseases listed below:
- Chicken Pox (varicella)
- Measles
- Mumps
A student within our school has contracted the Chicken Pox, another has contracted Measles and another has contracted the Mumps. The second part of this task is to research the processes that schools need to engage in to prevent the spread of these diseases from spreading.
The third part of this task is to present all your findings on a powerpoint resentation to present to your class. The process will explain more in deoth about what you need to do:
Process
PART 1:
- What the disease looks like?
- What symptoms does a patient have?
- How can it be contracted?
- How long does it effect a human for?
- What are some of the outcomes of the disease
- Is there an immunisation for the disease?
- Add any relevant information that will help people understand the disease
PART 2:
- Who has got it?
- How did they contract it? Is it easy to contract?
- What strategies have you put in place to prevent the spread of the disease?
- Should students be quarantined? How long?
- Have students been immunised?
- Add any additional suggestions that may help in this process
PART 3:
- Present all your findings on to a powerpoint presentation
- Use images and/or videos which may give your fellow peers an idea on the diseases
- Make your presentation around 10 minutes long
