Cultural Heritage in Botswana

Introduction

 Women within the community are responsible for collecting and moulding the clay.

Cultural Heritage is an expression of the ways of living developed by a community and passed on from generation to generation, including customs, practices, places, objects, artistic expressions and values. Cultural Heritage is often expressed as either Intangible or Tangible Cultural Heritage. As part of human activity Cultural Heritage produces tangible representations of the value systems, beliefs, traditions and lifestyles. As an essential part of culture as a whole, Cultural Heritage, contains these visible and tangible traces form antiquity to the recent past.

Task

Divide students into six groups with seven menbers in each group. Each group shuold pick one cultural practice that is not protective to the environment from thelist below and describe it. You must find out why people practice it and find out ways of preventing such practices. Research, share ideas and experiences in with your group members, then  present findings to the rest of the class

Investigate ways of overcoming the cultural practices. Conduct an internet research, interview the elderly as well as the Public environment officers. Use the Discussion board to share ideas with the rest of the team.

Step 4

Present your findings to the rest of the class using the narrated powerpoint. Welcome questions, recommendations or suggestions from the rest of the class.
