Introduction
Have you ever wondered what the numbers, or recycling symbols mean at the bottom of plastic bottles and containers?
Every plastic container has a recycling symbol. These symbols tell you the toxic chemicals used in the plastic, how likely the plastic is to leach, how bio-degradable the plastic is, and the safety of the plastic.
Task
Your task is to figure out what each of the symbols mean. There are seven total that you will be looking for.
Your job is to research the symbols and determine what they mean.
Process
Step 1: Create a new Word document.
Step 1: Look for pictures of all seven of the recycling symbols.
Step 2: Put one picture of each symbol on your Word document (You should have a total of seven pictures on your document).
Step 3: Next to each picture, describe what that symbol means.
Step 4: After you have classified each symbol, categorize these into safe and unsafe plastics.
Step 5: Conclude your findings and tell me in a few sentences what you learned.
