You have finished a reading of the Monkey's Paw and should be very aware of how suspenseful and exciting the story is!
BEFORE you can begin this webquest, you must complete your assigned paper of questions on the Monkey’s Paw.
BEFORE you can begin this webquest, you must complete a visual diagram of your completed/alternate ending to the story.
->Create a PPT, Comic Strip, or full page drawing of your ending (it needs detail and color)! This will be completed on lined paper!
Done with both of those? Well it’s time to start your QUEST!!!!

Task
Overview
->You are going to create a play based on the story you read earlier this week.
1) You need to choose a talisman of your own
->Will this talisman bring you good luck or bad luck?
2) Create a setting similar to (doesn’t need to be exact) the story you read
3) Create characters who will interact with the talisman
->Provide detailed information about the relationship with each character
4) Be sure to include the elements of Irony and Suspense
->Irony =the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect.
->Suspense= a state or feeling of excited or anxious uncertainty about what may happen.
5) Create a script where all of the previous 4 elements interact

Process
Group Work
Step 1:
Groups will be selected by students (no more than 4)
Step 2:
The script itself will need to be typed in the following format
Character 1: "Things they say are in quotes” things they do are not in quotes
Character 2:"Things they say in quotes" (notice how a new character talking goes to the next line!)
Step 3:
Your script will need to be acted out by the 4 members of your group, so plan to show this play. Practice your parts!
Side Step:
->All members should complete equal amounts of work. Example of how to break up the work load
->> Job 1) Script Writer (physical writing, not idea creation) Job 2) Prop creation (talisman and other uses) Job 3) Dramatic planner (plan out the acting portion) Job 4) Leader and facilitator (keep the group focused on rolling)
