Do you know what an integer is. Well let me tell you.
Integers
Integers are like whole numbers, but they also include negative numbers ... no fractions allowed!
So, integers can be negative {-1, -2,-3, -4, -5, ... }, positive {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ... }, or zero {0}
We can put that all together like this:
Integers = { ..., -5, -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ... }
Example, these are all integers:
-16, -3, 0, 1, 198
(But numbers like ½, 1.1 and 3.5 are not integers)

- Which cultures were the first to use negative integers and what contributions did they make?
- When was the word integer introduced?
- What does the word integer mean in latin?
- What is the symbol for integers, where does it come from and what does it mean?
- How do you add two integers if they have the same sign? Make sure that you explain how to determine the sums sign.
- How do you add two integers if they have different signs? Again, explain how to determine the sums sign.
- Explain how you determine a diffference when subtracting two integers. Explaine how you multiply and divide integers. A chart is acceptable as part of your answer.
