Introduction
Culture is a word for people’s “way of life”, meaning the way groups do things. Human knowledge, beliefs and behaviors are passed on to future generations. Culture is seen in people’s writing, religion, music, clothes, cooking, inventions, and many more. Do you know any items from around the world that are passed on from one generation to another?
Task
You and your friends are going to make a class book about items from different cultures.
Process
- Work in groups of 3-4
- Go through these links below to find out about Indonesian culture and other people’s cultures
- Choose 5-10 cultural items that you think are interesting
- Print out the pictures
- Prepare sheets of paper and make it into a book
- Cut out the pictures and stick them on the book
- Write a description of each picture. The description includes: Where it is from and what it was used for
- Present the book to the class
