Survival of the Fittest

         In the month of October, the Scouts of Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Lipa decided to go on camping. The camp theme is “Survival of the Fittest”. Their team leader leaves them a thrilling question that can only be answered if they finish the acquired task.

                Question:

                We are what you should possess to survive and be the fittest.

                 You need us to finish all the tasks to prove that you’re the          bravest.

                 Who are we?

Based on the question, perform the following:

                Task 1: Have 2 representatives from the group. Find details on how people overcome their fear and on how they develop their physical strength.

                Task 2: The remaining members group you into two and proceed to the step by step activities.

                NOTE: Before every task or activity there is a question. The question is a clue to the task you are going to accomplish.

                           After every tasks are letters you will gain that will help you answer the question that your team leader left to you.

1. Face your fear

Question: “Something that gives an explanation or provides a solution, usually a metal instrument by which a bolt of a lock is turned”.

Direction: After answering the question or riddle, the players are going to play the task.

Task Description:

                The player is going is going to find the object in which it is the answer in the question or riddle and that is inside the aquarium,  there is something creepy. Being a challenge you are going to find that objects with your hands while in a blindfold.

     2. Jump in

Question:

                You play this when you are young.

 You jump here in and out.

Activity:

                Each member of the group will play the jumping rope 15 times. When they finish up to the last, they can proceed to the next activity.

     3. Sack Race

Question: “You say “eew” when you saw me, under the soil, long and creepy.”

Procedure:

                With your partner put your half body inside the sack then jump and jump until you reach the finish line.

Task description:

                Answer the question, after that you will do our given task. (Find me Wormily). Get the coins under the worms the moving up to the next task.

     4.Chimp Race

Question:

        ” I’m hanging up at the tree and I live in the zoo. Banana is the favourite food of me and you.” “Who am I?”

Activity:

*The first person on each team is going to bend over with feet apart and grab their ankles.

*On “go” they are to race down the course and go back without letting go of their ankles.

*Each person in the team will repeat the relay.

*The first team finishing the task is the winner.

     5.  Crab walk while passing the strip of straw

Question: ” I am slow. I have four legs.       

I walk diagonally and indirectly.”

              Activity: 

                             After you answer the question, you will do the task.

*Move your body down and hold your legs then walk while having a straw on your mouth

* You will pass the strip of straw to your group mate

      First group proceeds in answering the thrilling question.

EXEMPLARY = 95

The quest's title is intersting. Tasks' are well explained. The process is well organized. Clear instructions are done on each task. Instruction is very good. Words used cen easily understood. Aspects to be considered are very good. Every step is clearly stated.Most students would know exactly where they were in the process and what to do next.

PROFICIENT = 87

Title is interesting. Tasks are explained. Process is organized. Instructions are done. The spelling and grammar has been checked carefully and there are no errors. Not all tasks are clearly instructed.

ACCEPTABLE = 84

Good title. Tasks are not explained very well. Process is good. Good instruction. No more than 2 spelling or gramar errors. Description engages the learner.

WEAK = 80

The spelling and/or grammar errors in this Web Quest distract from the meaning and don't model appropriate language. Title is not appropriate to the task. The written description of the task adequately describes the end/culminating project, but does not engage the learner.

UNACCEPTABLE = 75

Introduction is purely factual, with no appeal to learners' interest or a compelling question or problem. Wrong grammar.Title is not good. After reading the task it is still unclear what the end/culminating project of the Web Quest wil be, or the task seems to take a different direction tahn the process does
