Welcome to "Mrs. Yarborough's PA Symbol Quest"!  We will be going on an adventure to learn all about Pennsylvania's state symbols!

So, let's put our thinking caps on and begin our "Symbol Search Journey"!

Task

Task

*  The class will be divided into eight groups of three students each.

*  Each group will work together to answer three questions about each of our eight state symbols.

*  The internet will be used to search for your answers.

Process

Process

1.   Class will be divided into eight groups of three students.

2.  We will all proceed to the classroom computers.

3.  Open the webquest from the computer you have been assigned.

3.  Using your Exploration Journal Research worksheet, each person in the group will pick one question to answer for each state symbol.  You each get to choose what you want your question to be - but be sure you answer it completely! (PLEASE NOTE:  EACH STUDENT NEEDS TO PICK A DIFFERENT QUESTION).

4.  Using the state symbols resource via the internet, please locate each of the eight symbols from your Exploration Research worksheet.

5. Each person in the group will share their answer with the other members of the group.  All of the answers should be written on your Exploration Research worksheet.  Each person in the group has to have at least their question and answer written on your Exploration Research worksheet.  However, if your group gets done early, each person in the group can write the other two questions and answers on their worksheet.
