The Fantastic World of Fantasy

Introduction

Today you will be exploring the world of fantasy. The genre of fantasy is crawling with mystical creatures, magical beings, fantastical worlds and conflicts of all kinds. In this webquest you will discover the characteristics of the genre, read different samples of this genre, and write an original fantasy.

Task

To expand your knowledge you will complete the following tasks. 

1. Create a document on your google drive to keep up with your information.

2. Use the links provided on the process page and describe the different characteristics included in fantasy literature.  Include descriptions of: Plot Elements, Characters, Setting, Style/Mood/Tone, and Theme.

3.  Use the links provided on the process page and list and describe the different types of fantasy.  List as many as you can find.

4. Read 2 fantasys, discover the elements that make the story a fantasy, then compare/contrast the 2 stories.

5. Write a fantasy short story.

  • Open your google account, and create a document titled Fantasy Information, on this document you will keep all of your notes which will be used later.
