Writing a Creative Essay

Introduction

This will take you over the steps of writing an essay, and will show you the grading rubric I will use.

Task

You are to write a creative essay on the topic of your choice.  Make sure you use a clear, easy-to-read font, keeping the size between twelve and fourteen point.  This essay should show your growth throughout the year.  Make sure to use proper spelling and grammar usage.  This essay may be on anything--just be creative!

Process

You should begin with an outline or a four-square, outlining your thought process.  (This I will NOT grade.)  Try to make sure what you want your essay to say.  After this, you can begin on the rough draft.  At this stage, you should get your peers to go over your work, to get some outside opinions.  After this, you may begin on your final draft.
