我们都是小小鼓励家 (We can all be a motivator!)

Introduction

 

生活中很多时候,我们的一句鼓励与赞美能够成为其他人坚持努力的原因。接下来我们就要进入《爱的接力赛》的故事中。故事里的主角叫妮妮,他的朋友邀请她与他们一起参加接力赛(marathon)。可是,妮妮觉得自己跑得很慢,想要放弃。在故事中她的朋友就想了一个好办法来鼓励与帮助她。在朋友的鼓励下,妮妮是否完成了比赛呢?同学们将通过观看影片以及讨论来变身成小小鼓励家,与妮妮的朋友一起来帮助妮妮。

(In life, there are many instances that our word of praise could turn out to be a motivation factor for others. Now we are going to explore and get into the story of <The love marathon>. The love marathon is a story about a girl named NiNi, who is invited by her friends to participate in a Marathon. However, NiNi feels that she doesnt have the capabilities to take part in the Marathon and wanted to give up. In the story, her friends though of a good idea to encourage and help her. Under the encouragement of her friends, can NiNi complete the Marathon? Now all of you have transformed into a motivator and together with NiNi's friends, we will help NiNi to become a more confidence person! Have fun and enjoy!)  

 

Task

同学们的任务是把《爱的接力赛》的影片看完并且在小组中为妮妮制作一张鼓励卡,鼓励妮妮让她相信自己能够做得更好。老师在评估的环节会依照星星评分表来为你们打分。

(Your mission is to watch the <The Love marathon> and create a encouragement card for NiNi in your groups. I will assess all of you based on the star chart in the evaluation component. ) 

鼓励卡包括 (The content in the card is as follows):


1. 一个手工的封面,通过图片来表达你们对妮妮的鼓励。(A hand designed cover page where you will use picture to convey your encouragement to NiNi.)


2. 在第二页写一段鼓励妮妮的话,你们可以运用课文以及词典来帮助你们完成这个活动。

(On the second page, write a paragraph of encouraging message that you want to tell NiNi. You could use the textbook or dictionary to help you in the completion of the work.)

3.在第三页设计一个组别标志(group logo)让妮妮知道是谁想鼓励她。(On the third page, design a unique group logo that represent all of you to let NiNi know who you are.)

Process

1)首先,同学们先分成各自的小组。(First, get into your groups.)

2)你们打开下面的影片连接来观看《爱的接力赛》的影片。(Look for the video link in the credit section to watch <The Love marathon>.)

3)在观看影片中你们要注意妮妮的朋友的行为,看一看他们是如何鼓励妮妮继续参加比赛。(While watching the video, take note of the things that NiNi's friends did to encourage her to continue with the marathon.)

4)在看完影片后利用5分钟的时间与组员讨论妮妮的朋友所说的话以及妮妮的心情或行为的转变。(After the video, spend 5mins discussing with your groupmate on what NiNi's friends had said to her and how NiNi's mood and reactions changes with what they said.)


5)组员们利用10分钟讨论并完成封面设计。(After discussion of the video, spend 10mins to complete the cover page.)

6)组员们可利用下面的词典连接以及课文当中的词语来帮助你们写鼓励卡。鼓励卡的内容应在20分钟内完成。(With the help of the dictionary or your textbook, discuss and complete the body of the encouragement card.)

7)最后,在完成了封面与内容后,你们要在10分钟内设计一个组别标志,目的是让妮妮知道你们是谁,你们可利用kidrex来找出一些标志的模板。 (After writing the body, in 10mins, you will design a special logo that represent all of you, you could use Kidrex to search for some logo template. I have provided some template for you in the credit section.)

8)在你们完成后老师会把你们的鼓励卡收上来并且进行分享与点评。(After completion, I will collect the encouragement card and we will have some sharing and discussion on it.)

9)老师在改与评估后会在下一堂课还给你们。(I will mark and return the card to the respective groups in the next lesson.)

10)同学们可以分工合作,互相学习。(Remember that you all should discuss and divide the work among the different members.)

Evaluation

老师会根据你们的鼓励卡的内容、创意、语言来进行评估,做得最好的那一组会有小小的奖品。(I will evaluate the card based on the content, creativity and language, the best group will received a present. )

Conclusion

通过小小鼓励家的活动我们可以明白到美言一句动人心的道理,我们的的一句句小小鼓励,可能会成为别人大大的鼓励。希望通过今天的课,同学们可以明白鼓励他人的重要性。你们也可以和同学以及家人分享今天所学到的东西。同时,今天用的好词好句也能运用在作文当中。(Through the activity we could learn that a word of praise could touch a person's heart and encourage them to do better. I hope that through today's lesson, we could understand the importance of providing encouragement. You can share the things learnt today to people around you and use the words and phrases learnt in your composition. )
